Incursion: Musica Viva

Musica Viva comes to Vasse annually and this year the ensemble is called “Timmy and the Breakfast Band”. They have a great show and “Timmy” is a skilled circus performer – the kids are looking forward to seeing him live! They are all professional musicians and the cellist in particular is incredible. This is the culmination of a program of work we’ve been doing in Music for two terms.
Session Times: 45mins – 60mins
10 am – 11 am: Years 1-3
11:30 am – 12:30 pm: Years 4-6
10 am – 11 am: Years 1-3
11:30 am – 12:30 pm: Years 4-6
Parents are welcome.
The cost of the incursion is $6.50 per student.

The effects of music on the everyday
Discover how music can powerfully shape our actions, thoughts, and emotions from moment to moment.
Timmy is a perfectly normal school boy. But inside, he hears music in his head – all the time! How does this affect Timmy’s emotions, feelings and reactions in an everyday morning? Find out with musicians Rachel Johnston, Trent Arkleysmith and Gareth Bjaaland (Timmy) with a mandolin, musical saw, drums, banjo, cello and acrobatics. Students will discover how music can influence their own actions, thoughts and emotions through this energetic and unusual pairing of music making and circus.
