Year 3 and 4 classrooms focus on providing a vibrant and dynamic learning environment that explicitly teaches the skills to access the curriculum. Inquiry learning is also a feature, developing students’ critical and creative thinking skills.
Our teachers ensure they deliver well-planned learning experiences using contemporary pedagogy and teaching strategies to encompass all areas of the WA Curriculum. The teaching and learning program includes:
- Promoting Literacy Development (PLD)
- Maths Trek
- MacLit as the Literacy intervention program for Year 3 and 4 students.
- Leaning experiences that provide a balance of explicit teaching and inquiry learning.
- Yale University’s emotional intelligence program, RULER.
- URStrong’s Friendology program to explicitly teach a common friendship language across the school.
