On Wednesday 2 August, our Sustainability Superstars conducted a waste audit of our school. The Green Team has been busy collecting waste around school this term. Due to the horrible winter weather, we set up in the staff room!
Hayley Bullimore from the City of Busselton was here to help us understand what categories we need to sort the collected waste into.
Most students thought that plastic packaging, bottle tops, and drink containers would be the most abundant, but we were all shocked to find paper, cardboard, and food scraps were also high on that waste collected list.
We will be investigating this now to see how we can improve our waste management around the school.
